ADAM Access

ADAM has several profiles (roles):

  • ADAM_ADMAdministrator
  • ADAM_Application_Administrator
  • ADAM_Authorization_Grantor
  • ADAM_Helpdesk
  • ADAM_User

With the exception of the ADAM_Helpdesk profile, none of the ADAM profiles are granted directly. They happen as the result of an action taken in ADAM.

Application Administrators
Application Administrators of Ministry applications are identified by the Data Custodian of the business area that owns the application. The ADAM Administrator sets up the Application Administrators as directed by the Data Custodian.

Authorization Grantors
One becomes an Authorization Grantor when an Application Administrator delegates granting capability. The Application Administrator does this using ADAM. The person receiving a delegation, i.e. one who has been delegated the ability to grant access, will receive an email notification.

End Users
Authorization Grantors use ADAM to provide application access to users. AGs can only grant access to profiles they have been delegated by the Application Administrator. Users will likely not use the ADAM application, although they can use it to determine what application profiles they’ve been granted.

Help Desk
The Helpdesk profile is granted by the ADAM Application Administrator. The profile provides view access to all delegations and authorizations, and is used for trouble-shooting access problems.
